"Aal" About Andrea Aal

Voice Actor · Audiobook Narrator
Hi there, I’m Andrea Aal! Andrea, as in mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell 😉), and Aal, as in That’s “Aal” folks! I’m a professionally trained actor and lifelong storyteller. I spent over two decades working in Hollywood—on sitcoms, soap operas, national commercials, and improv stages—before taking an unexpected detour into publishing, where I became National Director of Consumer Advertising at The Hollywood Reporter. It kept me in the industry without requiring an acceptance speech! But storytelling pulled me back. Now an audiobook narrator, I bring heart, humor, and hard-won life experience to every project I voice. With 14 years of sobriety, an ADHD diagnosis, and a certification as a Health Coach, I connect especially well with nonfiction—particularly memoirs, self-help, personal growth, spirituality, psychology, and health. I don’t just read these stories—I’ve lived parts of them. That said, I’m no stranger to fiction. I have a soft spot for second-chance romances, character-driven comedies, and strong, feisty women who walk the edge—think Scarlett O’Hara with better boundaries. (Most days.) I earned my Theatre degree from UCLA with minors in French and Spanish, and I’ve got a flair for accents: British, Southern, French, Spanish, Russian—and yes, even Yiddish, thanks to my grandparents whispering secrets across the room. When I’m not in the booth, I’m probably walking my schnauzer-husky mix, Gemma (who insists she’s the real headliner), shopping at TJ Maxx like it’s a sport, or ordering off-menu with my husband, who warns the server: “For my wife, the menu is merely a suggestion.” Oh—and I’ll have her gluten. Authentically human. Professionally trained. Personally invested. Narration with depth, heart, and just the right amount of bite. That’s “Aal” for now.
